The predatory mite Amblyseius andersoni is a versatile predator, targeting a variety of pest mites, including spider mites, gall mites, and russet mites. Key pests include the two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae), European red mite (Panonychus ulmi), apple rust mite (Aculus schlechtendali), and boxwood bud mite (Eriophyes canestrinii). A. andersoni also feeds on thrips, pollen, honeydew, and fungi, allowing it to sustain populations even in the absence of primary pests. Withstanding a wide temperature range (6–40°C / 43–104°F), A. andersoni can survive extended periods without food, remaining a threat to pest outbreaks.
