What you’ll do

  1. Responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting, and reporting activities. This includes, but is not limited to:
  2. Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, account mappings, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  3. A hands-on approach to period-end close, including ERP System rollover as well as any necessary cleanup.
  4. Completion of all local-level and group-level reporting, in adherence with the required timelines.
  5. Proactive analysis of monthly financial statements for the business including analysis of any established KPIs.
  6. Completion of necessary balance-sheet reconciliations and ensuring that the general ledger, sub-ledgers, and other financial records are accurately maintained.
  7. Review the monthly reconciliation of inter-company purchases, sales, and closing balances.
  8. Prepare and post journal entries, adjusting journal entries, accruals and reversing entries if and when required.
  9. Development of annual budgets, both locally and for group reporting purposes.
  10. Oversee ESG and other regulatory reporting, as required.
  11. Supervise inventory and costing adjustments, as well as production costing.
  12. Support the design and creation of ad-hoc reports and KPIs.
  13. Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants, and oversee the completion of any necessary tax returns and payments as required.
  14. Participate in ongoing review of cash needs and short-term and long-term cash flow forecasting.
  15. Participate in AR collections meetings.
  16. Assist in the administration of year-end inventory counts.
  17. Ensure compliance with internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures, and recommend changes where appropriate.
  18. Act as a backup to current controller in all areas and functions.
  19. Provide support to CFO and other senior management with reporting and other duties, as assigned.
  20. Support other departments as required.
  21. Maintain absolute confidentiality with respect to all business-related information, including from co-workers, where appropriate.
  22. Assist the development of other finance team members by leveraging their strengths and helping to clarify roles and responsibilities, to maximize organizational and individual goals.


What you’ve done

  1. 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  2. CPA designation would be considered an asset.
  3. Excellent written and oral English language communication skills.
  4. Ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels (finance and non-finance).
  5. The ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize, and manage workload, adapting to changes as they occur.
  6. Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
  7. Experience with US Tax would be considered an asset.
  8. Willingness to perform cross-functional tasks as needed to achieve departmental goals.
  9. Willingness to periodically travel to off-site locations as necessary.
