Mycostop is a biofungicide registered to control damping-off, root and crown rot and wilt caused by Fusarium in greenhouse ornamentals and vegetables (cucumber, tomato and pepper).
Mycostop contains bacteria (Streptomyces griseoviridis strain K61) naturally present in the soil. The effectiveness of Mycostop is due to several factors:
- The bacteria deprives the pathogenic fungus of food and space by colonizing the roots of the plant before the fungus can;
- In addition, the bacteria secretes various enzymes and metabolites that prevent the growth of the pathogenic organism;
