Vermiculite
Vermiculite is a soil amendment used to improve the water-holding capacity of substrates. It also retains nutrients due to its good cation exchange capacity (CEC). In addition, it releases potassium and magnesium.
- Sterile: Produced at high temperatures, vermiculite contains no contaminants or weed seeds.
- Durable: Vermiculite maintains its integrity in mixes, does not rot or decompose.
- Acts as a physical separator: It makes heavy soils permeable, adds body to sandy soils and improves the homogeneity of any soil.
- Capacity to retain water, air and nutrients: It retains up to five times its weight in water and improves aeration thanks to countless air cells. It encourages deep rooting and protects roots from the scorching rays of the sun.
