Admin Assistant / HR Coordinator

Full-time | Leamington, Ontario


We are a full-service supplier of fertilizer, pest management products, including biologicals and bees, seeds and other consumable goods to the greenhouse, nursery and specialty horticulture industries in Canada and the USA. What you’ll do

• Support the HR department in the talent acquisition and recruitment process (job postings, screening resumes and pre-screen interviews for entry-level positions)

• Create onboarding packages for new hires (onboarding information, agendas etc., Backcheck and HR Downloads registration) and ensure consistency in the employee experience

• Assist with organizing and tracking learning and development

• Payroll back up

• Maintain HR Hub in Sharepoint

• Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form

• Provide support to HR team in all HR functions

• Project work as assigned (Assist with EE file audit, HRIS upgrade etc.)

• Administrative duties ◦ Ordering and maintaining adequate inventory of office and kitchen supplies, including the organization and cleanliness of storage areas

◦ Assist with support calls for photocopiers, postage machines, etc.

◦ Manage the process of obtaining, matching, and filing monthly fuel card and credit card receipts against their respective statements, as well as gaining necessary manager approvals, all in a timely fashion

◦ Ordering lunches and maintain adequate supplies for meetings at Hazelton and Fox Run locations.

◦ Assist with bookings and travel documents for travelling guests and employees.

◦ Assistance with government reporting and data-entry functions, as required

• All other duties as assigned

• Maintain a strict code of confidentiality concerning Plant Products business activities and all related affairs including but not limited to knowledge specific to Plant Products customers and their businesses


Who you are

• Strong communicator, who thrives in collaborative environments.

• Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)


What you’ve done

• Post-secondary education in related field
